Take Root welcomes families to participate in the Forest School Program from September to June .
If you feel that the Homeschool Forest School (ages 5+ as of September 1) and/or the Family Forest School (under age 5) may be right for you and your children, and would like to consider enrollment – follow the steps below! We hope you will love the program and become a part of Take Root Forest Learning Community!
Take Root’s Forest School is an enrollment-based program – families are encouraged to spend the duration of the forest school year, from September to June. It is necessary to complete the enrollment process, with annual upfront costs due to secure placement. To enroll, each family becomes a member of the Take Root Forest Learning Community. Included with the membership is the Take Root Family Adventure Pass – providing each family with the opportunity to attend Take Root’s exclusive events: 2 Family Beach Picnics, 3 Nature Family Field Trips, and 3 Seasonal Family Festivals (and more). Enrollment also requires registration fees for each child and supply fees for the forest school days enrolled.
See below for the steps involved in joining Take Root Forest School.

STEP ONE The first step is to contact Take Root – send an email to natureseekersfl@gmail.com or call (786) 490-6660 – leave a message and include your phone number, ages of children and where you live – which location suits you. One of the directors will reach out to you as soon as they can. During seasonal breaks it may take longer for them to get back to you. Thank you for your patience, the directors will get back to you as soon as they can.
STEP TWO Next, speak with the director to discuss what you are looking for, what your needs are, where you live and the ages of your children. The program will be explained to see if it is a good fit for you and your family. This is the time to tell the director about your children – your desires as a family, the needs of your children, etc.
STEP THREE After speaking with the director, the next steps are based on availability: If there is availability, during the forest school year you may be invited to visit Take Root for a Tour & possibly a Trial Experience Day. This will give everyone an opportunity to see if forest school is a good fit. You will also receive the Family Handbook to read over to make sure you are positive this is the environment you are choosing for your child to blossom. Tours are not available during seasonal closures. If there is no availability or if Take Root is closed for seasonal break and you aren’t ready to enroll, you will be added to the priority wait-list or interest list and will be informed later of future visits. You are invited to join our priority wait-list by signing up for the Family Adventure Pass.
STEP FOUR When you are ready to pursue enrollment, the next step will be paperwork: Intake/Application Form, Enrollment Form and Handbook/Agreement. It is important that this is completed and returned to get enrollment started, enrollment is first-come, first-served. You will not receive an invoice for payment until paperwork is complete.
STEP FIVE The final step is to pay the Enrollment Costs which include access to the Family Adventure Program. Once your paperwork is submitted you will receive an invoice. Enrollment Costs are due annually and upfront, they are non-refundable and non-transferable and not part of the Class/Tuition Costs. Class Costs are due through monthly payments and vary per enrollment. Take Root is a direct provider with Step Up UA and PEP. Your child’s space in the class will officially be reserved as soon as all paperwork is turned in, and the enrollment payments are made.
Enrollment Costs are due once a Forest Year and allow the classes to be scheduled and planned, rosters to be set, and supplies ordered. Enrollment Costs are not part of the Class Costs and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Class/Tuition Costs are paid in monthly payments from August to September, and vary per class enrollment. One month in advance of next payment written notice is required to leave the program, along with final payment due. Enrollment and Class Costs vary per program. Please contact with any questions.
26/27 Enrollment Costs :
$375 Family Community Membership/Family Adventure Pass – per family
$150 Registration Fee – per child
$30-$50 Supplies Fee – per day/class/per child (dependent on enrollment).
Community Supported Education

Each family’s investment bolsters the Take Root Forest Learning Community and its commitment to revolutionizing education.
Community Supported Agriculture is a practice where the community pledges support to a farm by investing in shares before each growing season. The invested money allows the farm to do the work to grow the food. Once the harvest comes in, the farm re-distributes the shares as boxes of food.
The idea of Community Supported Education is similar…we invite you to invest in Take Root Forest Learning Community, thus enriching the lives of your children, yourselves, your community. Each day, every week – as the seasons change, Take Root will deliver nature-based, holistic, fun, and engaging educational classes. Your children will grow, feeling a strong sense of self and community, a better understanding of their surroundings, while developing a natural respect for the world.
Each of you is invited to support the community by rounding up and adding more to your Enrollment Costs or donating separately to the Take Root Family Support Fund, allowing a diversity of children to attend the program.
Enrich your children, yourself, your family & community. Support innovative and holistic education – participate in our programs and TAKE ROOT…PLANT THE SEEDS.
Get in touch! Give us a call and leave a message – we will get back to you asap! Or send us an email telling us where you live, your children’s names and ages and what you are interested in.
