Experiential Discovery & Learning for Homeschool

GET CONNECTED! ECO – Every Child Outside…explore, discover, and learn the wonders of South Florida nature – experience the rhythm of the seasons and its effect on the biology and ecology of Florida flora and fauna. Discover the interconnectedness of the ecosystems and find a sense of place.
ECO – Every Child Outside! Get disconnected (from screens) and get connected (to nature). This weekly immersive class will give students an opportunity to discover the ecology of South Florida – its biomes, ecosystems, habitats and niches.
Through outdoor exploration and learning, participants will gain an understanding of basic ecological concepts. The class will expand on the idea of interdependence and how everything affects everything else. Understanding the workings of the world leads to appreciation and respect for self, others and the world we live in. Through nature journaling, research, game playing and hands on learning the ECO kids get connected!

Each class is experiential – meaning all the senses of the learner are engaged. Experiential Learning is the process of learning by doing. By engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learned to real-world situations.
Outdoor learning delivers many benefits — reduced stress, improved moods, boosts in concentration, and increases engagement in activities and lessons.
