Family Forest School provides nature-based, experiential engagement and play for preschool age children and their parent/caregiver. Every Family Forest School day, the children and their caregiver have an opportunity to explore, discover and play – with the forest as muse. The flow of each day is centered around song, story and exploration. The participants discover the wonders of nature, thus, sparking their imagination and stimulating their curiosity. Uninterrupted time for deep play is available – using the natural materials of the outdoor environment as their toys and tools – developing their fine motor skills. Using their bodies to climb, run, and jump, the children develop their gross motor skills. The holistic nature of the program invites connection to each other and nature. The program encourages healthy interaction and play between child and adult, creating holistic connections and positive relating.
Forest Schools are nature-based communities where facilitators provide opportunity for learner-led exploration and discovery, nurturing meaningful experiences for positive lifelong impacts. Forest School is a child-centered, inspirational learning process that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

| Family Membership Fee $350 per family | The Family Membership is good for the duration of the Forest Year and is non-refundable. Being a member of the Take Root Forest Learning Community allows enrolled families to attend Nature Family Field Trips, Seasonal Family Festivals & Family Picnics. Members also receive discounts on workshops. |
| Registration Fee $150 per child Supplies Fee $30 per child, per enrolled day | The Registration fee is paid once per year, per child, is non-refundable and secures the place in the program or on the wait-list. The Supplies Fee is paid once a year with your first payment. It is good for the duration of the Forest Year and is non-refundable. The The Registration & Supplies Fee allow for administrative costs, budgeting and procurement of supplies, planning of curriculum and training of the team. |
