Experiential Discovery & Learning for Homeschoolers
HEARTWOOD – Get to the CORE…find strength in the heartwood of the trees, delve into the deep mysteries of the core subjects – Math in Motion, Live Science & Language Arts in Nature! Discover the workings of the world through experience – exploration, discovery and play.
Students explore, discover and learn as they flow with each forest day. The students are immersed in their environment – exploring, playing and learning. The wonders of the forest bring to life the workings of the world – math, language and cultural studies become real and tangible as the children learn how humans and nature interact.
Each class is experiential – meaning all the senses of the learner are engaged. Experiential Learning is the process of learning by doing. By engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learned to real-world situations.
Outdoor learning delivers many benefits — reduced stress, improved moods, boosts in concentration, and increases engagement in activities and lessons.
