Connected – ECO Classes, Ages 5+, Dade

Part of the Forest Learning Hub

The Take Root Forest Learning Community’s Connected ECO Classes offer instruction and experience designed to support homeschooling for children, ages 5 and up. The Connected ECO Thursday classes demonstrate the interconnectedness and interdependence of life on Earth – specifically in South Florida. Students are introduced to ecological concepts as they interact with the outdoor world every week in the same place.

Experiential Discovery & Learning for Homeschoolers

Each class is experiential – meaning all the senses of the learner are engaged. Experiential Learning is the process of learning by doing. By engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learned to real-world situations.

Outdoor learning delivers many benefits — reduced stress, improved moods, boosts in concentration, and increases engagement in activities and lessons.
